Why do Women Want Bigger, Faker Boobs?

Lately, there have been new ways in the media market of making it easier for women with small breasts to enlarge them or to make them appear larger. Not only has the price of breast implants gone down, but also now they are advertised in many widespread women-read magazines, such as Cosmopolitan and Glamour. In addition, there are now new pills that promise to enhance breasts naturally, such as Bloussant and Isis. These, combined with new inventions, such as the Water bra and the elder, and still ever-popular Wonderbra, have made it extremely easy for women with smaller breasts to enlarge them or to make them appear larger. This ever-growing trend is extremely disturbing. More than ever, the media and society have greatly increased the trend of women wanting to enlarge their breasts. One example is the magazines in which these breast-augmenting supplements are published. Magazines like Cosmopolitan and Glamour have ads in every one of their monthly magazines, and they know many women will see them because these magazines are two of the most read among women between the ages of seventeen and thirty-five. But the questions that remain are: What is the importance of having large breasts? Why does the media encourage having large breasts and, why do women comply with this?

In my opinion, and I'm sure many women will agree with me, breasts were created and given to women for one main purpose (and maybe two main purposes if God is a man). The first and foremost reason for women having breasts is nursing. Women use their breasts to nurse their newborn children. However, nowadays, many women use supplemental formulas to feed their babies. This is where the problems start. First of all, the new techniques to enlarge breasts or make them appear larger have nothing to do with nursing babies, the primary function. Larger or seemingly larger breasts do not enhance or quicken nursing, nor provide more milk. So, keeping this in mind, what is the other purpose? Foreplay and stimulating arousal can be considered a second purpose for women having breasts. But, why do some women still insist on having larger breasts? Basically, women with smaller breasts (and this is not to say that this is true about all women) feel less confident about themselves, especially when they see women with larger breasts. Regretfully said, women's insecurity with themselves about their breasts stems from men. Most men, when asked to describe their perfect physical women (if not ideal in general), describe her as having large breasts. Therefore, men probably find women with larger breasts more physically attractive. This, in effect, will cause women with smaller breasts to feel less confident about their bodies because men may not see them as physically attractive as women with larger breasts. Because breasts are a major factor in defining a feminine figure, women with larger breasts may be visualized as having a more feminine body. Women with smaller breasts would not, in my opinion, become jealous of other women with larger breasts if it were not for men. This is not to say that men are at any real fault in any way, but it is because many men find larger breasts more attractive that some women with smaller breasts feel less confident about themselves.

Why?? What is the big clamor about men and large breasts? Do they provoke more stimulating foreplay? This is the only guess I can make for why men enjoy larger breasts. I'm sure that, if you asked many men, they themselves would not even know. All I know is that it is a damn shame that many women with smaller breasts have to sacrifice being confident about not only their bodies, but also their confidence as women.

One example to support my theory that women feel less confident about themselves because of men is strippers. Many strippers get breast implants, most likely not to boost their confidence, but because bigger breasts are more appealing to men. And, to support my theory, because bigger breasts are more appealing to men, women with smaller breasts become jealous of women with larger breasts because they are found to be more physically attractive than women with smaller breasts. This, therefore, makes smaller-breasted women feel less confident about themselves. This, in turn, creates the need for women to augment their breasts in some way, whether it is breast implants, breast-enhancing pills, or bras simply made for breasts to appear larger. Then this stimulates the production of breast-enhancing products, creating more and more ads in commonly read magazines and newspapers read by women. More and more women then read these ads and decide that they want to participate in the new breast-enhancing trends. It is like a domino effect. The more the word gets out about these new products, the more it's going to make women feel less confident about themselves and create the need to buy these things. These advertisements scream out to unsuspecting women that their product is necessary in order for them to feel confident and look attractive. These inventions and their ads make small-breasted women feel that if they have larger breasts, than they came become more feminine, and attract more men.

Another example is television. I was watching Jenny Jones a couple weeks ago and they had a new show idea. They asked if any women use their chests to get men to give them whatever they want and, if so, to call their show and tell them about it, possibly with an invitation to be on the show. Now, women will go on this show and brag to everyone that they use their chest to get men to give them what they want. This also proves that many men are more physically attracted to women with larger breasts. In addition, because of this, many smaller-breasted women will feel jealous and less confident about themselves because men may find larger-breasted women more attractive. This is not to say that men are totally at fault. Women should not be using their chests to get what they want in the first place; however, it simply proves that men are attracted to large breasts. Women should not be forced to feel insecure about their bodies because men are attracted to certain feminine feature more so than they are to others. All women were created with wonderful bodies, and they should be proud of what they are given. Nobody should get in the way of a woman's confidence. Women have every right to feel good about themselves.

It is not the fault of smaller-breasted women that many men are more physically attracted to larger breasts, nor do I really think that men are 100% at fault. Perhaps they should be a little less superficial, but in the long run, they are simply attracted more to larger breasts. Hey, if they like them so much, maybe they should be the ones with breasts. -By Dawn Taunt
