Abigail
Pogrebin, a magazine journalist and former 60 Minutes
reporter, engaged 61 of the country’s most famous Jews in candid
conversations about being Jewish. While in the process of talking to
folks like Dustin Hoffman, Steven Spielberg, Natalie Portman, Ruth
Bader Ginsberg, and Ronald Perelman, Abby realized she was asking
them to confront questions she had never really asked herself and
began a two-year course of intensive learning, culminating in
becoming a bat mitzvah. She’ll discuss her Jewish journey and that
of her celebrity subjects with mentor Rabbi Jen Krause, associate
vice president at CLAL: The Center for Jewish Learning and
Leadership. Wed, Nov 307:00 PM. $7.00 - Member $10.00 - Non-Member.
Location: The JCC in Manhattan, 334 Amsterdam Ave. at 76th St.
(Program room assignments will be available at the JCC Customer
Service Desk, in the lobby of the Samuel Priest Rose Building.)
