Yesterday, Thursday October 13, 2005 Sderot's mayor, Eli Moyal spoke with U.S. Special Envoy for Gaza Disengagement, James Wolfehsohn and Israel's Consul General, Ambassador Arye Mekel at the Yom Kippur Breakfast at the home of Philanthropist, Mona Ackerman.

Jack Club CasinoWolfensohn was appointed as international special envoy for the Gaza Disengagement on April 14, 2005 by President Bush following his ten-year career as the President of the World.  As Special Envoy, Wolfensohn was responsible to coordinate Israel’s planned withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and to spearhead reconstruction efforts under the Palestinian control over Gaza. Sderot's mayor, Ei Moyal whose town has been continually attacked with Qassam Rockets fired from Gaza explained to Wolfensohn about the rise in terrorist attacks since the withdrawal and described his experience as the mayor of a city located only a few kilometers from Gaza. Moyal also stated that he hopes that the residents of Sderot and Gaza can live in peace.
