Mercedes Hall: Their eyes – to be able to look into one’s eyes is to be able to be open for human contact. Q-And what people notice first about Mercedes Hall? Mercedes Hall: To feel what he or she is singing & to take unorthodox approaches to a song/melody ie: “just take a chance”. Q-Do you tolerate vicious artistic ambitions? Q-To YOU, what is more important success/fame or talent. Mercedes Hall: Talent , I wouldn’t mind a little fame & revenue. Q-Any price an artist must pay to reach for stardom? Mercedes Hall: Not necessarily, if you have a good grasp on life and who you are then you don’t have to sell out ! Q-Did you pay that price? Mercedes Hall: Wouldn’t know - No, I haven’t arrived yet. Q-What's next on your agenda? Performance, concerts,.deals? Mercedes Hall: A run of Friday night concerts in New York City, Danny’s Skylight Room, in addition to other Jazz venues in NYC - preparing my next album which will begin recording at SONY Recording Studio in New York City this May – will return to Cape Cod Jazz Festival this August and pursuing additional festival and live dates out of town.
